Spent the Easter weekend in Dolgellau with Wayne and Jackie. Popped in to see Sam’s Nan and Mandy, John, Ethan and Joel on the way. Sam and I went out for a meal on Friday evening. It was nice to be alone without the children. It does not happen that often, so that alone was enjoyable. The restaurant was at the top of a steep road in the mountains behind Dolgellau. I am sure it used to be a farm house, but it’s now a hotel. Sam and I sat in the alcove out of sight on the right, having a quite drink. The food was good and the portions were huge. Neither of us were able to finish the main course. Maybe we should not have had the garlic mushroom starter.Wayne and I took the boys on a walk along the local river. We were gone for a few hours. We saw lots of daffodils and other flowers. I took many pictures, but not had the film developed yet. I also took so shoots of the mountains etc. I tried each of the modes on the camera. So I should have some portraits, landscapes, close ups and fully automatic. Did not do any sport though 🙂 We found a few dead sheep. They were a long way down the rotting process. Really just bones and some wool covering them. Took a close-up of an exposed skull. I hope it comes out as it looked through the lens.
On Monday we stopped in Nuneaton to spend some time with Mum and Dad. We went to the chapel and joined in their easter activity. The kids won some eggs, so they were happy. Helped Dad with burning a CD. I’m sure I have done it before 🙂 A long weekend with the kids is mixed blessing. It’s great to be with them, but they can really moan and argue. I’m sure they are no different from many other children.
Still have a rotten cold. Did not go to work on Thursday as I was feeling so rubbish. Sore throat, hacking cough and blocked sinus. The usual. There were a few good April Fool stories. They were obviously fake though. A few Apple related ones and this great one for Aeron chairs
Some news on Australia, will say more later in the month.
