Father and Son Camp

On Friday evening Ben and Kristian came with me to the Father and Sons Camp our church holds each year. It’s usually the middle of May, but Stake Conference was held that weekend for the whole of the country, so the events were swapped. We went to a place called Olney. The camp site was very nice and has plenty of room. It was raining when we left Huntingdon, but it had cleared up once we were with in a few kilometres of the place. There were plenty of people from around the Stake, so it was good to catch up with a few people and meet a few new faces. We were at the NW corner of the lower lake.

We cheated and slept in the van. The seats all go down to make a double bed. The three of us fitted in quite comfortably. We have darkened windows too, which helps. I was woken up at 05:00 and heard a cuckoo. That is something I’ve never heard around here.

We have watched all of the new series of Dr Who and tonight was no exception. They have all be very good. The trailer for next week shows that it will have Daleks. Excellent. Tonights was funny in placess, but made some interesting comments on capital punishment, but in a subtle way.

We also watch the final of Strictly Dance Fever. The dancing was excellent. I’m sure all the finalists will do something in dancing in the future. Erin loved the program. She needs no excuse to get up and dance. She even makes up her own steps and tries to copy the dancers on the telly. Maybe take her to dance classes later. Kristian is a good mover too, but thinks dancing is a bit ‘girly’. Hopefully the dancing he has seen in the last two months has shown him otherwise.

Best get to bed. I do not need another late night.
