Hired a water blaster to clean house and drive ways. Very therapeutic. House looks much better. Got soaked but enjoyed the day. 

We have a rat and her young living under the chicken house. We guessed she was there a few months ago. We can see her doing her thing from the kichen window. She hops into the chicken feed hopper and grabs her fill. Sam has seen the young. They have silver grey fur. Would make nice pets 🙂

Oldest son is now married. Woot. 

Waiting in the rain for our guide to the Aranui cave. Hope they get here soon. Jack is impatient. 

Had a great time trekking this morning.  David was our guide. There was just the 3 of us. Jack was on Coffee, Erin on Stacie, I was on Kodi and David lead the way on Blondie. Nice paced rude throw native bush and along cut trails. Thanks David. 

…just broke for us. We need a newer video card as the drivers do not support some bit of Open GL. I can play many new Steam games on the same card. What gives?

Yesterday I was making a new class for a project. It needed to centre some text within a circle.

How many times have I done that?

1992 Uni project. Vector drawing system. In C++ with BGI and Turbo Vision.

1993 First job. C++ using MFC. 

1994 Similar to above but C and raw GDI. 

1999 More complex text flow into shapes. Included hyphenation and many lines of text. 

2002 Similar to above but new project so now C# and GDI+

2016 Very simple layout for a charting thing.

The methods are the same for all of them.  All one Windows. The code I wrote in 1993 is probably about the same as the stuff I did yesterday. The Windows SDK and API is so stable. 

Binge watching a series is a real problem. Watched 16 episodes of Brooklyn 99 yesterday (and the early hours of today)
